On June 2-3, the 9th Chengdu Seed Industry Expo, hosted by GL events Exhibitions (Harbin) Co., Ltd., Sichuan Seed Association, Chengdu Seed Industry Association, was held in Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center, and concurrently, Spring New Variety Field Exhibition was held at Tianfu Vegetable Expo Park, Mengyang Town, Pengzhou City on June 2-9.

This year, themed ¡°Meet the Good Seeds in Chengdu¡±, with a total exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, the expo attracted more than 700 exhibitors from home and abroad, who will exhibit more than 10,000 new, excellent and special agricultural products, and nearly 3,000 varieties exhibiting in the field. Chengdu Seed Industry Expo focuses on platform construction, industry clusters, technology research, industry exchange and other industrial development, discusses hot topics of the whole industry chain, brings more excellent varieties and cutting-edge technology to growers, dealers, cooperatives and other mid-and-downstream customers of the industry chain, and provides the best display platform for new varieties.

Chengdu always prioritizes the development of modern seed industry in the ¡°agriculture, rural areas and farmers" work. Key projects

Starting from industries, we hope to further promote the revitalization of the seed industry and to comprehensively display the characteristics of agriculture in many places. The Expo invited Qian Liang, Deputy Mayor of Pengzhou Municipal People's Government, Fu Jianyong, member of the Party Committee of Jinyang Agricultural and Rural Bureau and Director of Agricultural Economics Center, and Wang Qiang, Technical Manager of field exhibition, to bring to the audience the wonderful projects of South China Vegetable Seed Industry Innovation Center, Jinyang seed industry development project, and the varieties of the 9th Chengdu Seed Industry Expo (Spring) New Variety Field Exhibition.

This promotion meeting aims to enhance the brand influence of special agricultural products represented by Pengzhou and Jinyang, bringing more, better and newer agricultural products to all over the country with continuous promotion, and to open up greater development space for the agricultural market.

100+ delegations and 700+ leading domestic and foreign enterprises

The 2-day Expo attracted 17,361 excited visitors including agro-dealers, planters, seedling farms and cooperatives, agro-buyers, agricultural skill training institutions and online pre-registration visitors! There were also a lot of curious industry visitors who registered on site. The crowded exhibition hall showed the new momentum of the industry's vigorous development.

This Expo gathered 700 + leading domestic and foreign agricultural enterprise brands, including Rijk Zwaan (China), Qiaochang, Qingdao International Seedling, Anhui Win-All High-Tech Seed, Beijing Kings Nower Seed Science and Technology, Hazera, Guangzhou South vegetables, Enza Zaden, Shouguang Vegetable Seed Group, Huasheng Seed, DJI, Zhongnong Runze, Yuksel Seeds and other well-known brands.

3000 varieties in field exhibition

The spring field exhibition showcased technology, green and efficient agricultural models, and digital field planting system management. Nearly 3,000 new varieties of fruits and vegetables from more than 200 research institutions and breeding enterprises, including peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, melons, beans, fresh corn and other seasonal fruits and vegetables were shown.

The Expo specially invited experts from the Horticulture Research Institute of Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Horticulture of Chengdu Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, Sichuan General Horticulture Station and Sichuan Seed Station, who reviewed and awarded the exhibited varieties from growth, variety of pure yield, resistance to adversity and other aspects. Expert Insights

To explore a new model of integration of production, study, research and use, the Expo concurrently held the "Chili Industry Conference 2023", "Hilly Mountain Mechanization Development Conference", "Large Agricultural Product Launch 2023" and other high-end forums. Geng Sanshou, Huang Renzhong, Tang Youwan and a number of other agricultural experts and agriculture-related technology developers were specially invited to give lectures on site, who conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as the latest variety research and development, technology release and variety breeding technology promotion.

New, Excellent and Special Agricultural Products

Leaders visited the field exhibition of the 9th Chengdu Seed Industry Expo and spring new varieties exhibition, inquired about the planting and growth of new varieties, and showed interests in the growth of them. They gave important guidance, and pointed out the direction of future seed industry development.

The exhibited varieties on the Expo focused on application and commerciality, with increased fun and innovation. A food tasting area was set up in the field, so that leaders and visitors can not only feast their eyes, but also satisfy their palates, providing a multi-angle all-round display platform for new and special varieties.
